started part throttle tuning, but only got a chance to take a couple runs tonight. i think this variable vane has some merit to it, as the turbo sounds like it starting to spool at 1500 rpms, but that's when it started to go lean and i had to let out of it.
i adjusted the maf transfer up a little in the tune and i'll make some more runs around the block tomorrow to get the bottom of the curve right, then move on to WOT territory.

so i just got back from some more tuning runs and,
THIS THING IS FREAKING RAD!
i am getting the tune more dialed in. the turbo feels like a freaking diesel, it starts spooling real quick, and i still have a stock TC. it spool right off idle and is building boost by 2,000 rpms. i glanced down and at 3k in first gear, it already had 5 psi and it was climbing fast and starting to really pull pretty hard. i'll definitely have a permagrin for the rest of the night!
i had to put it away because the constable that patrols my neighborhood started cruising around, and both my registration and inspection stickers are out. i guess i'm going to the courthouse and my buddy's shop sometime next week to get those taken care of.
the top end of the tune is super rich and i am slowly adjusting it down to get it where i want it, but my wideband seems to be fruckered up. it reads full lean pretty much all the time. it is mounted about 12" after the turbo in the down pipe. tomorrow i'll check the wiring and see, but i was thinking it could be a bad sensor. although, it worked last time i drove the truck before the build. _________________ 03 black turbo L - holset turbo power!

those wide band sensors go bad real easy... I'm already on my second one. Unfortunately, the sensor for my dyno jet setup runs just over $100. _________________ "Thunder does the talkin', but Lightning kicks the a$$"
