I have had an SES light and a stumble. Hooked it up to a basic scanner and have a misfire in bank one - passenger side. Couldn't tell me what it was... I already knew I had a misfire.

What's the best way to trace it, just pull one coil wire at a time then one injector wire at a time until nothing changes and that is the problem?

FWIW I changed all 4 O2 sensors a year, year and half ago so I am pretty sure they are not at fault. Got no O2 fault.

Best way is to use a coil pack/plug tester (flyswatter) with someone in the cab to manipulate the throttle while you're testing. You can do all eight COPS in less than a minute.

One of the best tools in my tool box....

http://www.denlorstools.com/home/dt1/page_16150_318/waekon_wae76562_coil_over_plug_quick_probe___vs.html

You can get a better price than what is shown at the website link above. I paid around $65.00 for mine.
I think I got it online from KD Tools, although it may have been Summit or Jegs.

Pull all 4 plugs on bank 1 side and check them. Buy Flyswater, or come to Brookshie and let me check them.

Just a follow up in case anyone is interested. I pulled all the plugs on bank one and they looked fine. On the suggestion of a mechanic, I did on induction service, i.e. SeaFoam into the top end via vacuum line

Slowly, slowly sucking it in there was not much smoke. Took it outside anad ran it down the road and the smoke stopped traffic!

Besides just being a fun run, the stumble disappeared and has not come back... neither has the code and all operating parameters are fine.

JKust needed a little cleaning!
